The cover photograph is of a young school boy (the current Chairman) sitting next to The Founder (Sh. Mian Muhammad) on a winter afternoon in 1963. One has a smile of satisfaction at having a fulfilling life and the other looking forward to it. This is the story of The Mian Trust Hospital as it is commonly known. A dream of a successful businessman devoting the profits from his business ventures into a charitable hospital rather than another industry to spin out yet more profits.
Over the last sixty odd years and three generations of the Mian Mohammad family the hospital has grown into a full-fledged 200 bed institution, with a proper training school for mid-wives. It is known as a refuge for the less advantaged section of our populace. Those who are unable to pay the full cost of modern medical care.
Our hospital is a certified “not for profit” organization, by Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy (PCP) and we are fully documented and audited. We are also recognized charitable institute by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and exempted from income tax and sales tax. Contributions to us also get the full benefits of tax credits from the Government. We are also certified by the Punjab Healthcare Commission.
In the last two years we have added a blood bank, with complete facilities for screening and storage of blood. New space for the Outpatients department, and an office upstairs for better management. This year we have modernized our Gynae wing, added a comfortable 24 beds in General Ward and eight bed in Semi Private ward and six private rooms. We continue to expand the hospital as required and improve the facilities that we have. Most of all we endeavor to improve the quality of our care especially for our needy patients.
We urge you to join us in our effort to provide better health care to our citizens who cannot afford the full cost of modern medicine.
