MMTH was established as a child & maternity
clinic in the heart of Faisalabad City by Late Al-Haj Sheikh
Mian Muhammad back in 1960's. It was the dream of the founder
to serve the poor at a time
when the
whole city lacked required health
Facilities.
The Clinic was up graded into a hospital in 1967. 13 acres of
land was obtained on lease from the Punjab Board of Revenue and
the founder and his children provided funds for the construction
and running of the hospital.
Today MMTH stands as a Multidisciplinary 170 bed hospital which
is duly recognized by PAKISTAN CENTER FOR PHILANTHROPY, a reputed
International agency that evaluates status of NGO's / NPO's.
The hospital is also running a midwifery school,
which offers a diploma course recognized by Pakistan Nursing Council.
The students are provided proper accommodation, schooling & meals
at subsidized rates.
The board of trustees plan to elevate the hospital by improving the facilities in terms of:
Number of beds.
Better equipments.
Conversion of midwifery school to a full College/University.
Addition of new departments.
The present Board represents the third generation of the family
and the members represent prominent sectors of the Country. The current
chairman is an Economies Graduate from the University of the Cambridge
and has the capacity & the team to deliver.
The hospital is located in the heart of Faisalabad,
a city of seven million people. This industrial city has a large
number of workers who are often unable to afford medical care and
need assistance. The hospital at inception was the only alternative
to the Government owned civil hospitals. The facilities are:
